H1N1 is a very interesting critter it consists of components from avian (2), swine and human sources. It’s death rate currently is well below that of more “regular” flu but every bit as contagious if not more.
Every new case of H1N1 gives the virus the opportunity to mutate into something much more deadly. Every individual that thinks that this virus is harmless is playing russian roulette. If you purposely get yourself infected you just bought a lottery ticket with 1 in 400 chance of dying as it stands now.
If this current form mutates there is every chance the current vaccine won’t work against it and possibly the current anti virals will have no effect. If it is a much more deadly strain then a lot of people are going to die. Every person that does not get the current vaccine increases the chances of the worst case scenario happening.
