swine flu tests costs
what is the main difference between seasonal flu and swine flu?

How one can differentiate if he has swine flu or just normal flu?what if the major symptoms which differentiate between these two?what is the name of medical test to check swine flu?how much is the cost of the test?

In countries with high rates of novel h1n1 (swine flu), like the US, virtually everyone who gets a flu will have novel h1n1. The symptoms may not be significantly different. The only way to differentiate between the two types of flus is to send a test to a lab, and the only way a lab will accept your test is if you are hospitalized or at high risk of complications and your result will impact how your doctor is treating you (this mostly applies to pregnant women, where tamiflu is recommended for novel h1n1 but not for the typical seasonal flu.)

If you get flu like symptoms, you can choose to call your doctor (never go to an ER unless you’re having severe symptoms!) for antiviral medications, like tamiflu, which can make you feel better faster, but there’s no need to test to confirm flu diagnosis before prescribing them. You do need to camp your butt at home for 7 days or at least 24 hours after your fever has passed.

The best way to avoid all this mess is prevention! Get vaccinated, wash your hands often, and avoid people who are sick.
