swine flu contagious period

Is it safe to babysit when I could have swine flu?

I have been sick for a week, and we have come to the conclusion that it is either swine flu or mononucleosis. We have had many cases reported in the school I go to. If it it mono, the kid shouldn’t worry about it, because I wouldn’t be contagious anymore and mono is transfered through saliva.

My mom offered to babysit my cousin today. He is 3. I was wondering if I am contagious anymore and if it is safe for me to be around him?
We have a doctors mask I can wear.
I have been sick for 6 days and the incubation period for swine flu is 24-48 hours.
But where do i go then? because he is coming here. should i stay outside untill he leaves? if i cant be around him where do i go? im not babysitting, my mom is. but its at our house.

Until your fever is gone stay away from anyone and everyone. If you feel better then you should be fine to go around people.
Wash your hands frequently, and try not to drink or eat after others and this will help the spread of any germs that you might have still lingering. Always cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough as well. But if all your symptoms are gone and you do not have even a slight fever, than babysit all you want. Good Luck
